Academies Prepare Students for College and Careers Whittier Union provides robust career and technical instruction via 13 award-winning career academies, 11 of which are California Partnership Academies, serving as small learning communities in which students obtain practical career education, training and internship opportunities in a professional work setting. The academies and pathways – which include a rigorous core academic curriculum – are open to all students, who receive a focused educational experience that prepares them for college and careers. Scholars participate in local, state and national competitions, earn entry-level career certifications, learn resume writing and job interviewing skills, and receive mentorship from industry professionals. Tri-Cities ROP – which offers multiple career technical education courses on each campus – works in conjunction with many of the career academies.
